1.Eliminating blood-heat and promoting circulation of the blood, removing toxic materials and letting eruptions out

For the treatment of retardation of eruption or eruptions in dark or purple color or in dull color due to abundance of virulent heat evil, it may be combined with Radix Paeoniae Rubra, Periostracum Cicadae, etc.; for furuncle, carbuncle, eczema, dermatitis, pruritus vulvae, scald and burn, etc., its medicated oil may be used externally and the medicated oil can be prepared by immersing the powder into the vegetable oil (3:6) for several days and then filtering the oil out for being used as medicine. To treat various kinds of carbuncles, deep-root carbuncles, skin pyogenic infections it may be combined with Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, Resina Draconis, Calomelas, etc., for being prepared and used as an ointment for local application.

2.Promoting diuresis and facilitating defecation

For the treatment of stranguria or constipation due to abundant blood-heat, it may be combined with the drug for reducing evil heat and removing toxic materials; or may be used as a single medicine in the from of powder taken with water.
