 ACTIONS AND INDICATIONS
 

1.Relieving palpitation and calming the mind

In treating resting restlessness, vexation and insomnia due to deficiency of blood in the heart and hyperactivity of the heart-fire, the drug is often used in combination with Rhizoma Coptides, Radix Rehmanniae or Succinum, etc. In treating epilepsy, the drug can be used in combination with Rhizoma Arisaematis, Succinum, Alumen, etc.

2.Removing toxin treating skin and external diseases

In treating sores and pyogenic infections, the drug and Realgar, etc. can be ground into powder and applied to the local area. In treating ulcer of the mouth or nose, sore throat, etc., the drug and Borneolum, Syntheticum, Borax, etc. can be ground into powder and applied to the local area by insufflation. Besides, the drug has antiseptic effect and its powder can be used as pill coating.
