1.Reducing
heat and resolving dampness
For the
treatment of acute dysentery due damp-heat, it is often used
in combination with Radix Pulsatillae, Sophorae Flavescentis,
Radix Aucklandiae; for chronic dysentery, with Radix Sanguisorbae,
Cortex Ailanthi, etc.
2.Clearing
away liver-heat and brightening vision, relieving red eyes
and nebula
For the
treatment of bloodshot eyes with nebula it can be used for
wash. For acute inflammation of the eyes with swelling and
pain, with Herba Lophatheri, Rhizoma Coptidis, or with 6g
of Rhizoma Coptidis and 12g of Talcum, which are pounded into
powder and immersed in the hot water, and then used for fumigant
and wash.
