REFERENTIAL ADVICE
 

1.Relieving palpitation and calming the mind

In treating mental disorder, palpitation, poor memory, insomnia, etc., equal amount of the drug, Plectrum Testudinis, Rhizoma Acori Graminei and Radix Polygalae are ground into powder and made into pills with water, and 3g of the pills are taken at a time, three times a day.

2.Calming the liver and suppressing Yang hyperactivity

In treating dizziness, blurred vision, vexation, mania due to terror, etc. which are caused by deficiency of liver-Yin and floating of Yang of deficiency type, the drug is often used in combination with Concha Ostreae, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Cynanchi Atrati, Flos Chrysanyhemi, Ramulus Uncariae cum Uncis, Radix Scrophulariae, etc.

3.Inducing astringency and arresting discharge

In treating seminal emission, abnormal leukorrhea, spontaneous sweating, night sweating, menorrhagia, etc., the drug is often used in combination with Concha Ostreae, Rhizoma Dioscoreaee, Os Sepiellae seu Sepiae, Poria, etc.

4.Promoting tissue regeneration and healing sores

In treating sores and ulceration which do not heal over a long time, umbilical sore with watery discharge, bleeding from incised wound, etc., equal amount of the drug and Alumen are ground into fine powder and applied to the local area.
