1.Removing
the retained water by purgation
To treat the excess syndrome due to internal retention of water
in the thorax or abdomen, marked by thoracic or hypochondric
pain, cough and dyspenia, fullness and solidness of the epigastric
region, fullness and distension with ascites, it is used with
Radix Euphorbiae Pekinensis, Folium et Flos Wikstroemiae Chamaedaphnis,
Semen Sinapis Albae, Semen Pharbitidis, Radix Aucklandiae, etc.
2.Relieving swelling and dispersing mass
To treat skin inflammation due to damp-heat, its powder is mixed
with water for local smearing.
At present, it is used to treat intestinal obstruction with
remarkable retention of fluid in the intestinal cavity in combination
with Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis, Semen
Persicae, etc. |
