herb DESCRIPTION
 

Long cylindrical. Slightly twisted, 50~100cm long, 2~3.5cm in diameter. Externally yellowish-brown, with longitudinal furrows and ridges. Nodes usually swollen, with leaf scars and branch scars. The remained bark easily torn. Texture hard, uneasily broken, the slices 2~4mm thick, uneven on margin, the remained bark yellowish-brown, wood yellowish-brown or pale yellow, with yellowish-white radial striations and cracks, vessel pores scattered densely. Pith relatively small, whitish or yellowish-brown, occasionally hollowed. Odorless; taste, weak.
