DESCRIPTION |
| |
Subspherical,
mostly broken, the whole one, 5~8 mm in diameter; surface
showing brownish-red tegmen, one end yellowish-white, about
1/3 in size of the whole kernel, with a depressed dotted scar
of hilum, white on removal of tegmen. Texture relatively hard,
fracture white, starchy. Odourless; taste, weak.

ADVICE |

1.Invigorating
the spleen to arrest diarrhea
In treating
long-lasting diarrhea due to deficiency of the spleen, the
drug is often used in combination with Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae,
Rhizoma Atraactylodis Macrocephalae, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Poria,
etc.
2.Tonifying
the kidney to arrest seminal emission
In treating
nocturnal emission incontinence of urine, etc. due to deficiency
of the kidney, the drug is often used in combination with
Fructus Rosae Leavigatae.
3.Removing
dampness to arrest abnorma leukorrhea
In treating
abnormal leukorrhea due to damp-heat, the drug is often used
in combination with Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Cortex Phellodendri,
Semen Ginkgo, Semen Plantaginis, etc.In treating abnormal
leukorrhea, equal amount of the drug and Poria can be ground
into powder and made into pills with honey, and 10g of the
pills is to be taken with salt water as a dose.
