1.Clearing
away blood heat relieving hectic fever
To treat the syndrome of heat in the blood due to deficiency
of blood, marked by afternoon fever without any known cause
it is often used with Radix Rehmanniae, Herba Artemisiae Chinghao,
Cortex Lycii Radicis, etc.; to treat fever only due to deficiency
of Yin, with Yin tonics. For the treatment of fever due to blood
deficiency after labor or fainting, with Radix Angelicae Sinensis,
Radix Ginseng, Radix Glycyrrhizae.
2.Promoting the discharge of urine to relieve stranguria
To treat stranguria due to heat, stranguria with bloody urine
or painful urination with red urine and hot sensation, it is
often used in combination with Caulis Akebiae, Talcum, Folium
Pyrrosiae, etc.
Besides, it is also used in treating mastitis, furuncles and
snake-bite, a proper amount of the entities plant of this drug
(Radix Cynanchi Atrati) may be pounded and applied to the local
area, or it may be used in combination with the other drugs
having functions in clearing away heat and removing heat toxics
or poisonous materials. |
