The Acromegaly and Giantism are caused by the pituitary gland secreting excessive growth hormone (GH). The disease onset before the puberty is called giantism; while after the puberty, when the osteoepiphysis area is mostly closed, it is called acromegaly. Giantism patient often continues to develop to hypertrophic giantism. The clinical symptom mainly has two aspects: excessive GH causes the hypertrophy of the soft tissue, the skeleton and internal organs; pituitary adenoma causes oppression symptom.
